Description:

Providing supportive, thoughtful and evidence-based treatments for children, adolescents and adults.

Taking the step to see a Psychologist is likely to be a daunting one for you. Please take the time to read a little bit about what you can expect.

At Hills Psychology Health Practice, we believe that the assessment is the beginning of the therapeutic process. It is a time to get to know you and to talk about the issues that have been troubling you. It is an important start to a new relationship between you and your Psychologist. From this point, we can begin to explore the details of the problems and to develop strategies that will help you cope and manage the difficulties you face.

Sometimes people will report benefits from therapy from as little as 2 sessions. Most people will continue for about 8-15 sessions and are then feeling confident enough to progress independently of therapy. Others will prefer a longer term service. Sessions can be made weekly, fortnightly or on an as needs basis. Typically, the earlier sessions of therapy will be more frequent and will lead to longer periods between sessions.

Therapy is a way to increase your self- awareness and to learn skills so that you can better adjust to difficult circumstances. At Hills Psychology Health Practice, we see that therapy can empower you to make different choices and lasting changes.
